STILLWATER, Okla. – The Red Dirt Film Festival has brought people from around the world to Stillwater every fall since 2013 to watch original films and be a part of an industry event that is helping build Oklahoma’s film economy. But, not this year.

The two-person Red Dirt team had been looking for a way to make the film fest a lasting cultural staple by connecting to the OSU community. When they pitched the idea to OSU President Burns Hargis, he gave them an opportunity so valuable, it was worth postponing the event for seven months…
